Mid-Summer Coastal Cleanup
Saturday, July 10, 2010

We are recruiting volunteers of all ages to assist with our Midsummer Coastal Cleanup, a special event that is in partnership with Tampa Bay Watch and 10Connects. We will be deploying both a land- and sea-based cleanup effort at Fort De Soto park after the busy fourth of July holiday weekend. This is a great opportunity to give back to an area that we all love and enjoy. Please feel free to bring your kayak or canoe if you wish to participate in the water-based cleanup.

Meeting place:

  • For land volunteers: Shelter 12 near the Bay Pier
  • For Kayak or canoe volunteers: entrance to boat ramp (Sign in between road and tree line – Blue Tent)
  • For groups with 4 or more: at Tampa Bay Watch (before toll booth into park)
When:
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Wear/bring:
Closed-toe or water shoes, hat, garden gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, water & picker for trash if you have one

*** Trash bags, latex gloves, sunscreen and water will be provided. ***

The Annual Mid-Summer Coastal Cleanup is held at Ft Desoto and is conducted in partnership with Tampa Bay Watch on the first Saturday after the 4th of July. It is a shoreline, water and land cleanup event.
